How we verify every clinic
The peptide and GLP-1 market is full of gray areas: compounded medications that are no longer legal, "research-only" peptides sold for human use, and websites with no identifiable physician. That's why we audit every clinic before listing it. Of 80 clinics we evaluated in Houston, 41 did not pass.
The four-point standard
- Verifiable medical supervision. The clinic names its prescriber (MD, DO, NP or PA) and we verify them in the federal NPI Registry (CMS) for Texas. Anonymous "our medical experts" doesn't count.
- Legally sourced medications. After the shortage resolution and the FDA's 2026 actions, compounded GLP-1s as a primary offering are out — and so are research-grade peptides (BPC-157, TB-500, ibutamoren and similar) sold for human use.
- A real location. A confirmed street address in the metro area. Online-only operations with no identifiable clinic are not listed as local clinics.
- Proven public reputation. A Google rating of 4.5 or higher with at least 20 reviews. Promising new practices go into our re-evaluation queue, not the directory.
The three states of a listing
✓ Verified —meets all four criteria today. We re-verify periodically: status can change if regulation or the clinic's offerings change.
⏳ Under verification —meets part of the standard; we publish exactly what's missing. We verify more of this queue every day.
Excluded —does not meet the standard. We don't publish these clinics (41 in Houston so far). The most common causes: compounded GLP-1s as the core product, research peptides for human use, and anonymous prescribers.
Independence
No clinic can pay to be verified. If we add referral partnerships in the future, they will be clearly disclosed and will never affect verification status.
